Use punchcards to create an array of patterned knits.

Course Overview
One of the many things that I love about machine knitting is the versatility of the punchcard. This simple – and satisfyingly mechanical – method of programming allows us to create an infinite variety of fabrics, using a number of structures: tuck, slip, fairisle and (for Knitmaster and Silver Reed owners) punch lace.
However, many machine knitters aren’t aware of the full possibilities of the punchcard. On this workshop, I’ll share my tricks for getting the most out of your punchcards to create basic and more complex fabrics by manipulating the card, taking needles out of work, and combining punchcards with stripes and manual techniques. We’ll play with existing cards and there’ll be the opportunity for you to design, and try out, your own.
This workshop takes place from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday, and 10am to 1pm on Sunday, followed by lunch (usually finished by 2.30pm).
